Curriculum + Student Life

Phuktal Monastic School provides a primary and middle school education (grades 1 – 8), after which students transfer elsewhere for high school/secondary school. An integrated curriculum includes natural and social sciences, mathematics, Hindi,  English, and written Tibetan (Bhodi), along with traditional subjects Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan medical science Sowa-Rigpa. And as potential future members of the monastery, they are trained in all aspects of monastic life (prayers, rituals, festivals, etc.)
