Phuktal Gonpa maintains a traditional Tibetan medical clinic serving the local community. An on-site Amchi (Tibetan traditional physician) gives consultations and distributes natural Sowa – Rigpa medications, many of which are prepared at the monastery.

Local village life in Lungnak Valley is integrally connected with Phuktal Gonpa. Phuktal monks regularly attend local village events such as weddings, funerals, and births, performing traditional prayer ceremonies (pujas). Villagers visit the gonpa to make offerings and to pray, to consult with the amchi, and to participate in special pujas and festivals.
